Cherry Pie Picache's mom stabbed dead amid storm

MANILA -- The mother of actress Cherry Pie Picache was stabbed dead by still unidentified assailants inside her house in Sct. Dr. Lascano Street in Barangay Paligsahan, Quezon City on Friday, police said.

The victim, Zenaida Sison, was found lying lifeless on the floor in her house's second floor.

Peter Serrano, Picache's friend, said the actress decided to go to her mother's house as she cannot be reached through her mobile phone.

Picache asked her driver to jump over the gate just so they can enter the house. Upon entering the house, they saw that the house's second gate was open.

The actress then asked her driver to go up the second floor to check on her mother.

Sison lived alone. She had three cleaning ladies who alternately visited her house. She also employed a gardener.

Serrano added that Sison is well-known in her village, making it easier for her to live alone.

Authorities have yet to check if there are missing items inside the victim's house.
